Instagram does not sell or transfer handles
There is no price list and no sale option. A handle is tied to a profile. The profile can change its own username, and that is the only transfer the platform supports.
Buying exposes you to three risks
- The seller disappears after payment.
- The seller keeps access and takes the handle back.
- The account carrying the handle is removed for breaking the rules.
Offers to sell handles follow a pattern
They arrive by direct message or comment, name a price, and ask for a deposit first. The pattern is described in the username claim scams guide.
A claim is the rule-following way to ask for a taken handle
A claim does not pay the holder. It asks Instagram to act under a published process, and it only works when the facts fit. See the routes.
A service is not a seller
Atclaim does not sell handles and holds none. It checks routes and submits requests. If the claim fails, the price is refunded in full.
