Deactivate or delete
TikTok separates the two. A deactivated account is hidden and can come back. A deleted account is removed after the process on TikTok's page.
What you can do
- Check the profile link to see whether it still loads.
- Try the name in the username change screen.
- If it is not accepted, assume it is held.
Do not rely on it
Treat the name as unavailable until the platform lets you save it.
