What the message can mean
- The owner deactivated the account and can still come back.
- TikTok banned the account and the decision may still be open to appeal.
- The owner deleted the account, which TikTok says can take time to complete.
- The account blocked you, so it is hidden from your view only.
How to check properly
- Search the handle from a second account or a logged-out browser.
- Open Edit profile, then Username, and type the handle.
- If TikTok says it is not available, someone still holds it.
- If TikTok accepts it, save it straight away. Nobody else is told.
If it is held but hidden
A hidden account is not a claim reason on its own. A route fits only if the account posed as you or used your registered mark. See TikTok impersonation and trademark reports.
