Evidence that suits a request from Denmark
For a request from Denmark the useful evidence is a mark on the DKPTO or EU register, a trade name in use or a registered company name, or proof that a profile is posing as you. The preparation checklist lists the rest: the exact handle, the profile it is for, and what ties the name to you.
Never send a password or a login code. Nobody who needs one is working through an official route. See claim scams.
Starting with Instagram in Denmark
A mark registered with the DKPTO, or an EU trade mark, is the clearest evidence for Instagram’s intellectual property form. Danish law also gives some protection to a name that has become known in business, but a registered mark is easier for a form to read. A company name in the Central Business Register shows the business exists and is not a trade mark.
The four official routes are set out in the routes guide and compared on the routes comparison.
Facts to cite
- Trade marks: the Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO).
- Personal data: the GDPR and the Danish Data Protection Act, with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) as the regulator.
- Consumer and advertising matters: the Danish Consumer Ombudsman.
- Languages: Danish.
- Currency for the price: Danish krone (DKK). The price is agreed in your chat or email before work starts.
These are reference points, not legal advice. A platform’s decision on a handle follows its own policy.
The other two platforms in Denmark
The Danish letters ae, o with a stroke and a with a ring need plain spellings in a username. State in the claim which plain spelling the brand uses. The Consumer Ombudsman has published guidance on how influencers must mark advertising, which applies to posts and not to the handle. TikTok and Snapchat claims go through the trademark and infringement forms.
Handle limits for both are on the TikTok rules and Snapchat rules pages.
The order of work
- You send the handle you want and the profile it is for, on WhatsApp or email, and say you are in Denmark.
- We look at whether an official route fits the facts and tell you if it looks workable.
- The price is agreed in chat before any work starts.
- The request is filed with each platform’s process. The platform makes the final decision, and a claim that fails is covered by the refund policy.
