Instagram first: what holds up in Netherlands
Dutch brands usually register with BOIP, which issues a single Benelux trade mark covering the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, or file an EU trade mark. Either gives Instagram’s intellectual property form something to read. A trade name entered at the Chamber of Commerce shows the business exists, and Dutch law protects trade names in use, but a mark is the stronger paper.
The four official routes are set out in the routes guide and compared on the routes comparison.
What to have ready in Netherlands
For a request from the Netherlands the useful evidence is a Benelux or EU trade mark, a trade name registered with the Chamber of Commerce and used in business, or proof that a profile is posing as you. The preparation checklist lists the rest: the exact handle, the profile it is for, and what ties the name to you.
Never send a password or a login code. Nobody who needs one is working through an official route. See claim scams.
TikTok and Snapchat from Netherlands
The ACM is both the consumer authority and the Netherlands’ coordinator under the Digital Services Act. That is about platform duties in general. A username claim goes through the platform’s own forms like any other. For TikTok and Snapchat the trademark and infringement routes apply.
Handle limits for both are on the TikTok rules and Snapchat rules pages.

How a request from Netherlands usually runs
- You send the handle you want and the profile it is for, on WhatsApp or email, and say you are in the Netherlands.
- We look at whether an official route fits the facts and tell you if it looks workable.
- The price is agreed in chat before any work starts.
- The request is filed with each platform’s process. The platform makes the final decision, and a claim that fails is covered by the refund policy.
