Evidence that suits a request from Singapore
For a request from Singapore the useful evidence is a mark on the IPOS register, an ACRA business record that matches the name, or evidence that a profile is posing as you. The preparation checklist lists the rest: the exact handle, the profile it is for, and what ties the name to you.
Never send a password or a login code. Nobody who needs one is working through an official route. See claim scams.
Starting with Instagram in Singapore
Singapore’s Trade Marks Act 1998 works on registration, so a mark registered with IPOS is the clearest paper for Instagram’s intellectual property form. An entry with ACRA shows a business exists under a name, but it is not a trade mark. Both are supporting evidence for a platform that decides each request itself.
The four official routes are set out in the routes guide and compared on the routes comparison.
Facts to cite
- Trade marks: the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS).
- Personal data: the Personal Data Protection Act 2012, with the Personal Data Protection Commission as the regulator.
- Consumer and advertising matters: the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore.
- Languages: English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil.
- Currency for the price: Singapore dollar (SGD). The price is agreed in your chat or email before work starts.
These are reference points, not legal advice. A platform’s decision on a handle follows its own policy.
The other two platforms in Singapore
In 2026 Singapore started its Online Safety Commission under the Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Act. When it opened, the first set of harms did not include impersonation, so check the Commission’s current list before relying on it. It deals with harm to people and is not a route to a handle. TikTok and Snapchat go through trademark and infringement forms.
Handle limits for both are on the TikTok rules and Snapchat rules pages.
The order of work
- You send the handle you want and the profile it is for, on WhatsApp or email, and say you are in Singapore.
- We look at whether an official route fits the facts and tell you if it looks workable.
- The price is agreed in chat before any work starts.
- The request is filed with each platform’s process. The platform makes the final decision, and a claim that fails is covered by the refund policy.
