Instagram first: what holds up in Italy
In Italy the Industrial Property Code governs trade marks, and a mark registered with the UIBM or at EU level is the best evidence for Instagram’s intellectual property form. The Civil Code protects a person’s right to their name in article 7, and a pseudonym that has become well known in article 9. Article 494 of the Criminal Code covers impersonation. These are legal background, not transfer orders.
The four official routes are set out in the routes guide and compared on the routes comparison.
What to have ready in Italy
For a request from Italy the useful evidence is a mark on the UIBM or EU register, a personal-name right under the Civil Code, or evidence that a profile is posing as you. The preparation checklist lists the rest: the exact handle, the profile it is for, and what ties the name to you.
Never send a password or a login code. Nobody who needs one is working through an official route. See claim scams.
TikTok and Snapchat from Italy
Italian brands with apostrophes, such as D’Angelo or Dell’Orto, need a plain spelling, and the claim should state the spelling that is free on all three platforms. TikTok and Snapchat claims go through their trademark and infringement forms. AGCOM is Italy’s Digital Services Act coordinator, which is a platform-duties role and not a claims route.
Handle limits for both are on the TikTok rules and Snapchat rules pages.

How a request from Italy usually runs
- You send the handle you want and the profile it is for, on WhatsApp or email, and say you are in Italy.
- We look at whether an official route fits the facts and tell you if it looks workable.
- The price is agreed in chat before any work starts.
- The request is filed with each platform’s process. The platform makes the final decision, and a claim that fails is covered by the refund policy.
