Instagram first: what holds up in Luxembourg
Luxembourg has no national trade mark register of its own. Marks are registered for the Benelux area through BOIP, or for the whole EU through the EU office, and either kind is the clearest paper for Instagram’s intellectual property form. An entry in the Trade and Companies Register held by Luxembourg Business Registers shows a company uses the name, but it is not trade mark protection.
The four official routes are set out in the routes guide and compared on the routes comparison.
What to have ready in Luxembourg
For a request from Luxembourg the useful evidence is a Benelux trade mark from BOIP or an EU trade mark, a Luxembourg Business Registers (RCS) record that matches, or proof that a profile is posing as you. The preparation checklist lists the rest: the exact handle, the profile it is for, and what ties the name to you.
Never send a password or a login code. Nobody who needs one is working through an official route. See claim scams.
TikTok and Snapchat from Luxembourg
Many Luxembourg brands work in French, German and English at once, so the same name can appear in three spellings across platforms. TikTok and Snapchat claims go through their trademark and infringement forms, and the filing should name the exact spelling held by the other account.
Handle limits for both are on the TikTok rules and Snapchat rules pages.
